The letter to Hill

As a final class assignment this grade 12 year, we had to write a letter to the author Lawrence Hill himself. This gave us the opportunity to ask any questions that we had to the profound author directly. I found it very difficult to come up with questions to ask him but I think that if Hill actually responds to all or even some of our questions, we will be much more informed about the book and understand it a lot better. After reading and analyzing the BOOK of Negroes, I am sure I wasn't the only one who had more questions... and what better source of answers to our questions than the author himself? Finding out Hill's writing process might really aid us, as students, to improve our own process of writing. Maybe even finding out some stuff about his own life would paint us a clearer picture as to why he wrote a story regarding this deep, touchy subject. You can never do enough research so I believe this assignment will be really helpful.
